Meet Tania Rivers
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor with over ten years of experience supporting people in mental health care — across hospitals, group practices, military communities, and educational settings.
I take a down-to-earth, collaborative approach to therapy. My work is guided by curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for your values and history. I don’t impose a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to meet you where you are.
My Therapeutic Style
You can expect our sessions to feel genuine and collaborative. I take time to learn about your background, cultural influences, and life experiences. Together, we’ll explore what healing looks like for you, sometimes with deep reflection, and other times with a bit of humour when it helps lighten the load.
A Little More About Me
I’ve lived and worked in Korea, Germany, the United States, and now Canada, and bring an intercultural and anti-oppressive lens to my practice.
As someone in an intercultural relationship, a mom, and a person who has navigated my own mental-health challenges and seeking counselling, I understand that healing is deeply personal — and that everyone’s path looks different.
Equity and inclusion are at the heart of my work. All are welcome here.
